Health and safety

Our health and safety policy is at the heart of ISG and we are committed to providing a consistently high standard of safety throughout every one of our workplaces.

Our site teams, including all contractors, are required to carry out works in accordance with strict attention to our operating health and safety standards. Our group Health and Safety Policy statement sets out the goals of the company, and lists the strategic steps we will take to ensure that those goals are met.

Since joining RoSPA as a member organisation in 2005 we have successfully achieved recognition of our positive stance towards health and safety with the attainment of Gold Awards each year.

This year our pragmatic and innovative approach has also seen ISG obtain a number of more highly acclaimed awards including 13 RoSPA Gold awards and the overall Construction Commercial Sector Award Winner 2007 for Construction Health and Safety Excellence, presented by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

Our continued development of our health, safety and environmental management systems has resulted in independent accreditations such as BS18001: 2007, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 being achieved. All standards are verified by an external acreditation body SGS United Kingdom Limited which consists of audits based on surveillance and system investigation visits. Our accreditation body believes we are one of the first UK construction companies to achieve the new standard of BS18001: 2007.
