ISG Cathedral is first to deliver zero defects for Lloyds TSB in YSD refurbishment programme

ISG is celebrating being the first contractor on the newly completed Lloyds TSB Your Store Design programme to deliver a zero defect handover. National fit out and refurbishment specialist ISG Cathedral has been supporting the leading bank’s new concept store roll-out since July 2008.

ISG Cathedral refurbished a total of 39 branches between July 2008 and February 2009. Teams worked across the extensive southern region in order to cover the entire branch network in this geographical spread. Work included the remodelling of the interior of each branch to suit the new business concept, taking into account maintenance demands during the branch lifecycle.

The Your Store Design concept was created to reflect the diminishing need for traditional banking cash transfers within the branch, and the increasing importance of providing a comfortable, user friendly environment in which to develop customer relationships.

Paul Chadwick, Head of Retail Property for Lloyds TSB, said he was delighted the ISG Cathedral team was able to achieve a zero defects handover at the branch in Whitton, Twickenham amongst many other excellent Lloyds TSB projects. He said: “Snag-free projects should be the overriding objective for any contractor – it is a point of pride for both us as the client and ISG Cathedral. The Whitton branch refurbishment is a demonstrable testament to the attention to detail and ongoing care that goes into all of these projects.”

Darren Hill, ISG Cathedral managing director, said the team’s ability to deliver snag-free handovers was down to the relationship the company has fostered with the bank. He said: “ISG Cathedral, and the teams behind it, has an excellent record for delivering top quality work and working as ‘one team’ with Lloyds TSB, rather than simply as client/contractor. I believe this is the key to our latest success.

“It is our ability to deliver zero defect handovers on short timescales, through our stringent close-out process, that makes us a partner of choice. However, support from the client and the rigorous control of our supply chains are also essential - zero defect handovers are the ultimate sign of true teamwork.”

ISG Cathedral is proud of the relationship built up with Lloyds TSB over the last decade and includes approximately 500 projects to date. The Whitton store was handed over in November by the team led by account manager, Barry Perkins.
